This introductory course provides an overview of the Canadian education system and Canadian academic culture and assists students in transitioning to undergraduate level studies at universities in Canada. The course also highlights the complex and dynamic components of cultural groups and their interactions. Students reflect on their own cultures and learn about others through various theoretical perspectives. Students will gain an understanding of the postsecondary education system in Canada and how this leads to expectations for students at the university level. In addition, students will be exposed to some useful techniques to help improve their study skills.
