Welcome! This short course on Academic Writing and Reference is designed as a resource for students to understand academic writing and to prepare for future writing at the graduate level. It touches on specific topics related to how to construct an argument or claims and how to incorporate knowledge and information from outside sources into your own academic work. Some of the learning activities were created specifically in the second language contexts in which student’s native tongue is other than English.
Workshop facilitator brief profile: My name is Sujitra Supachokjaroensin. I have developed strong academic writing skills through many years of study and professional experience, particularly while completing my Master’s degree in Education at the University of Manitoba in Canada and through my recent preparation for the IELTS Academic test in 2025. I am grateful for the opportunity to share some of the strategies and insights that have helped me better understand academic writing and apply practical approaches to improve my own work.
